So another year has passed. Most of us have gorged ourselves on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years feasts. Now is the time for reflection and planning. I know I have a list of items that I want to learn, do, accomplish and create this next year. 2010 is going to be fun. After all… this is the year Hal comes to life and takes us to space right?
Anyway, I took a look at our traffic and compiled a list of top blog posts from EETemplates and Ranked the templates (also based on traffic)....
Top 5 Blog Posts
1. Integrating the JQuery Cycle plugin into ExpressionEngine
2. Integrating SlideShowPro with ExpressionEngine
3. Download EE Core and Install it on Godaddy Shared Hosting
4. The intro to Mark Bowen’s Shopping Cart Script
5. And an article on YAML... which is interesting since we don’t use YAML anymore. Might want to do one on 960 Grid eh?
And the traffic for the templates ranked as follows:
1. HandsRaised - Our church template
2. PhotoStudio - Our photo blog template
3. Tudobem - Was the best selling template of the year for us.
4. The no longer available Chocolate
5. And Legato, our forum template.
All in all it has been an awesome year. We have made lots of new friends, and learned a lot about ExpressionEngine. I have to say that I am really excited about 2010. There will be lots of forward momentum going into 2010 with the release of EE2.0 and all of the add-ons that will follow. Development of new templates will continue. I think it is going to be an awesome year all around. I hope you have many successes and wonderful experiences this year. May it be a Rockin year for all of us.
I said I would post some larger images of the override.css that I have been toying with so people could make out some of the details. Just to be clear this is not as robust an overhaul as the override that Leevi Graham has posted. But I like it.

Yeay! We’ve relaunched EETemplates.com! The biggest change is that we are now using ExpressionEngine 2 as the foundation for the site and loving it! Nothing really complex going on behind the scenes as EE does a great job of handling sites like this without the need of any add-ons. The only one we are using is FreeForm.
If you are looking for the templates they are still available. I will be releasing another blog template this week after I package it up. I am removing the demos as it was becoming a bear keeping them up to date and locking them down so spammers couldn’t use them as their play place.
If you are interested in blogging about how you use ExpressionEngine just contact me and we’ll make it happen. I am looking for add-on reviews, tutorials, code tid-bits, new add-on previews and news.
This is one of those things that we all need but rarely ever make time to do. With each custom client we do we provide a bunch of tutorials for how to do things in their website. But I have often thought it would be nice to have a PDF that explains the basics of the ExpressionEngine CMS to a new user so they can start managing a website not necessarily building sites but entering content. Well Headspace is a design firm out of Nova Scotia and they have release a wonderful PDF that is just that. You can get it by clicking on this link to go to Headspace.com
I think anyone that is interested in ExpressionEngine development should frequent EE Insider at least 1-2 times a week. Especialy those that may just be getting their feet wet in the world of ExpressionEngine. So without further ado here is our 5 Reasons You Should Read EE Insider article….
